Description
Ponstan (mefenamic acid) is the name of a patented drug fromgeneric drugs Mefenamat acid. These drugs include class ofNon-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) or can be calledan anti-inflammatory analgesic.]

Like any other analgesic drug classes, these drugs also have thesame function as pain relievers. The effect than as a painkiller, as well as anti-inflammatory (reduces swelling).

Composition
Each capsule contains 250 mg of acid Mefenamat
Each tablet contains 500 mg mefenamic acid (Ponstan Forte)

Indication
To relieve mild to moderate pain, and acute and chronic pain in relation to:
1. toothache
2. headache
3. joint pain
4. muscle pain
5. Dysmenorrhea (pain during menstruation)

Contraindications
1. Patients who are hypersensitive to mefenamic acid
2. Ulcer patients
3. Colitis patients
4. Patients with heart failure
5. Renal failure patients
6. Patient respiratory

Dosage
Orally (by mouth)
Adults: 3 x 500 mg (capsules or tablets)

Side Effects
1.Nausea
2. Vomiting and diarrhea
3. stomach irritation
4. dizziness
